On November, 8th in Kyiv (the Cinema House) for the first time has taken place Web Media Day – the Conference «Media Business in the Internet», devoted to questions of development of media business with the help of the Internet

73 experts of traditional mass-media have taken part in forum work (TV, radio, printing editions), web media, studios-production, distributors of media content, the organizations of telecommunication and allied industries.

24 reports and performances of the experts who have practical experience in the Ukrainian market of web media, have allowed to see a complete picture of a condition and tendencies of development of this market, more accurately to realize a place and prospects in this market for different web media resources.

In the general opinion of participants, the program of the first Web Media Day was so sated, interesting and useful that it "has forced" them to work practically without breaks from 10 o'clock till 19 o'clock…

The organizer plans to hold Web Media Days regularly, devoting it to various aspects of creation, work and development of web media.

As organizers we definitely risked, offering to very big, very non-uniform on interests and for the first time gathered audience to learn during the day 24 points of view in various directions of the web media market.
All our risks have justified, and results have surpassed all most optimistical expectations: and by quantity of participants, and by quality and value of reports, and by professional level of all participants – they have appeared very attentive, competent and initiative.
However, web media as business cause not 24 and even not 100, but «one thousand and one question», for one day it is impossible to know all. The Internet «attacks heels» to a classical cable television

On November, 8th, 2011 in Kiev has taken place the Web Media Day – Conference “Media business on the Internet” which has collected experts of the media market of Ukraine. This even has been devoted questions of development of media business with the help of the Internet. The telecommunication chamber of Ukraine has acted as the general partner of conference.
Director of TCU Konstantin Gritsak, has noticed that at conference have been brought up the extremely important questions which can affect on development of the TV market of Ukraine as a whole. Interesting reports of participants of conference say that usual linear TV has the strong competitors who using the Internet, as the tool of delivery of the information to the spectator. About gravity of such competition says at least that fact that the companies which are engaged in similar technologies, perceive this business as the basic, instead of as additional.
One of competitive tools against linear television Konstantin Gritsak notice interactivity: «to broadcasting companies which haven't got in digital streams or to cable packages, it is not necessary to lower hands, after all they have a possibility to develop an announcement in the environment the Internet, which gives that can't give an ether and digital TV – it is an interactivity, possibility of dialogue with the spectator». Also there are other advantages – contents. «One of interesting directions for an Internet announcement will be own entertainments and local news», – director of TCU continues.
In reports of the majority of lecturers sounded that the era of linear TV has ended. Acting on conference with the report «Prospects of linear television by 2015», director of TCU Konstantin Gritsak nevertheless is assured that in the nearest future to it threatens nothing: «In a current of two-three years to usual linear television globally threatens nothing, but in his back interactive TV is breathing. Also in a current of the same period business of a traditional cable television can easy feel, but it is necessary for providers to develop service the Internet and high definition television, to offer subscribers interactive services».
